The Balboa Island Ferry is a two-way ferry that connects Balboa Island with the Balboa Peninsula. You can take your car (and remain seated inside) or ride just as a passenger.

Hours of Operation: Monday through Sunday: 6:30 am until 12:00 am 365 days a year

Length of Ride: ~5 minutes each way

Cost (One-Way):

  • Pedestrians:

    • Adult - $1.50

    • Child (Ages 5-11) - $0.50

  • Vehicles (includes driver):

    • Bicycles:

      • Adult - $1.75

      • Child (Ages 5-11) - $0.75

    • Motorcycles/Scooters - $2.00

    • Passenger Cars/Trucks - $2.50

    • Unspecified Vehicles - $2.50

  • Vehicle Passengers

    • Adult - $1.50

    • Child - $0.50

Do you have to take the ferry to get to Balboa Island?

No! The Balboa Island Ferry is a shorter route, but you can also drive a longer route to get there (for free).
