Huntington Beach Pier: What to Expect (2024)

The Huntington Beach pier is the most iconic of all the piers in Orange County, CA.

Things to Do at the HB Pier

1. Go fishing

You may fish from the pier. No license is needed.

2. Have a meal at Broadstreet Oyster Co.

Ruby’s Diner had a location at the end of the pier. Broadstreet Oyster Co. now occupies the space.

Right before the pier’s entrance is an amphitheater setting where musicians meet up for an informal jam session. You can also find street performers. Farmer’s markets are held there every week.

4. Watch the U.S. Open

Every summer, the Huntington Beach Pier is a popular place to watch surfers compete at the U.S. Open of Surfing.

5. Take photos under the pier

The spot underneath the pier is a popular location for family photoshoots.

6. Rent a bike

There are several rental facilities that have surrey bikes for groups and individual bikes, including e-bikes.

7. Have a meal at Duke’s

To the left of the pier entrance is Duke’s, a famous Huntington restaurant with beachfront views.

Right across the pier is downtown Huntington Beach or Main Street. There are plenty of bars, restaurants, and shops to choose from. Just a short walk away is Pacific City, an upscale shopping center with dining options as well.
