The Los Rios Historic District is the oldest neighborhood in the state of California.
Located just a short walk from Mission San Juan Capistrano, it’s one of the most charming areas in all of Orange County—a place where you can take a nice stroll and learn more about OC’s history.

Hidden House Coffee
As you cross the train tracks into the district, you can grab some coffee at Hidden House Coffee, a highly-rated coffee shop in a yellow house with plenty of outdoor seating.

Rios Adobe
Next to Hidden House Coffee is the Rios Adobe. This is the oldest continuously occupied house in the state of California. It currently serves as the law offices of attorney Stephen M. Rios.
Ramos House Cafe
The Ramos House Cafe is a popular place for brunch.
Montanez Adobe Museum / Butterfly Sanctuary
The Montanez Adobe was one of 40 adobes constructed in the 1790s. It is now a museum open to the public.
Right outside the Montanez Adobe is a lovely little butterfly garden.
Las Catrinas
Las Catrinas is one of the most recognizable shops in the district with brown wood siding and turquoise trim. They sell apparel and adorable patio decor.
The Tea House on Los Rios
The Tea House on Los Rios is a popular venue for bridal and baby showers.
