Rodeo 39 Public Market: What to Expect (2024)
In 2020, Rodeo 39 Public Market, a gourmet food hall, was opened in the city of Stanton, CA. Before then, Stanton wasn’t known for much except strip malls and Adventure City, a 2-acre amusement park.
Set up like Grand Central Market in Downtown LA, this place features lots of great food, particularly Asian!
We love the fishbowl elements they’ve incorporated into the design of the space—in most cases, you can see your food being cooked behind big glass windows.
It’s big enough that you probably won’t be able to try everything in one visit. But small enough that you’ll be able to walk around the entire building to take stock of every option before making a choice.
Here are some of the standout attractions:
Coffee Dose
Positioned right at the entrance, Coffee Dose has some unique, instagrammable coffee drinks. During the week, you have your remote workers getting some caffeine and posting up at the bar with their laptops.
To the right of the Coffee Dose is Pick Me! Flower Boutique. They offer a selection of fresh flowers and floral arrangement classes.
The developer was reluctant to call Rodeo 39 a food hall since he wanted it to be more of a community-gathering space and non-food vendors like these help to accomplish that.
Banh Xeo Boys
Banh Xeo is a crispy Vietnamese pancake with a protein of your choice and fresh veggies. Order your own or split with a friend!
Skin Design Tattoo
Owned by Robert Pho, a renown tattoo artist highly sought out for his black-and-gray realism tattoos. Pho’s backstory is fascinating; according to the LA Times, a client once paid $300K for a full body suit—talk about an expensive outfit!
JoyStix is an arcade with old-school games like pinball and Street Fighter.
Tenori
A popular spot to get a musubi sampler. Choose from pork belly, spicy tuna, KBBQ and more. Heads up: this place can get pretty busy!
Bearded Tang Brewing
Stanton’s first and only brewery. Bearded Tang Brewing’s “Vlad the Barista” beat out 89 other entries for best coffee porter/stout category at the 2021 Great American Beer Festival. The brewing tanks displayed behind giant glass windows are epic!
